Have you ever wondered how much it costs to get a supercar or a luxury brand car? Of course, who wouldn’t, if only out of curiosity. And whether the price of a company like Ferrari or Lamborghini has a lot of zero and very little available. So, whether you’re interested in knowing the value of these machines or because you’re one of the lucky ones with the financial strength to park them in the garage, this article might be a source of inspiration for you.
It is undeniable that currently Dubai is one of the richest cities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) region. And many luxury brands to supercar manufacturers are interested in wanting to reap the harvest in this treasure-strewn area. Various luxury cars to rare variants of exorbitant prices can also be found in Dubai. It’s no wonder that the world’s fastest supercars are being targeted by oil tycoons in Dubai. From European to American supercar manufacturers are vying to reach as many buyers as possible.
Dubai has always been distinguished on various levels from most cities in the world, which made it the focus of attention of tourists and investors from all over the world. This is a rich area where supercar ownership is common. But one thing that is interesting recently is an association of rich women called the Arabian Gazelles. For its members, the price of a European supercar is clearly more expensive than in its home country, and the cost of car insurance in UAE (for supercars) which ranges from AED 8,000 to AED 20,000 is not something that causes a headache.
In order to enter, you must be the owner of an Aston Martin, a Lamborghini or any other luxury car. It is the first and only club of its kind in the United Arab Emirates.
After organizing a masked ball in New York to save Venetian architecture, socialite Lauren Santo Domingo flew to Dubai to support the region’s first female-led supercar club. “Life is too short to drive boring cars,” she says the motto of Arabian Gazelles, this exclusive association of high-end car owners that will collaborate with Moda Operandi, the online luxury fashion store.
The club was founded in 2017 by Hanan Mazouzi, who owns a Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead CoupĂ© and a Morgan Aero SuperSport. “Driving supercars has been a hobby dominated by men,” she recounted in an interview. “Car manufacturers, dealers, distributors and car clubs don’t know how to approach us and satisfy our adrenaline needs, but now they are realizing and taking an interest in entering this market niche.” According to Mazouzi, the goal is to empower women through this hobby for millionaires.
The passion of the United Arab Emirates and its people for luxury cars is far from a secret. In 2012 the news spread of the multiple sports cars abandoned in parking lots by foreigners fleeing their debts incurred in Dubai. But the trend is still in vogue. The police fleet includes Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Ferrari models – last year they achieved a Guinness record for having the fastest security force thanks to their Bugatti Veyron. As Mayor Sultan Al Marri of the police department explained to CNN, the purpose of this deployment is to bring officers closer to citizens and break down barriers, showing that many policewomen drive these cars.
Now, women can also enjoy this hobby in company. While in their neighboring country they celebrate that they can finally get a driver’s license, in the UAE they are already at the next level. Arabian Gazelles, named after the extinct species of gazelle that used to populate the area, has taken advantage of this seam to attract more affluent citizens.
There is only a simple requirement to enter the exclusive club. Have a luxury car. “To be a member, the drivers must own a supercar of the brand Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, McLaren or Mercedes-AMG GT CoupĂ©, to name a few,” they indicate on their website.
One of her most famous ambassadors is Supercar Blondie, an American car fan instagrammer with almost a million followers. They also collaborate with Pepper Yandell, a now Dubai-based photographer who has released a Netflix documentary, Fastest Car, on the subject.
Sportswear brands are discovering the potential of the female market. Last year, Aston Martin created an advisory panel to review launches and come up with new strategies.
If you want to be a part of the Arabian Gazelles or any other supercar club, you should know that buying an expensive car at high speed is the right of everyone who can afford it. However, don’t just buy it but endanger yourself and others. Driving with a good attitude is paramount on the road because, without us realizing it, cars are deadly weapons if not driven the right way.
