David’s first words when he started his documentary films were “God Save New Zealand”, in honor of New Zealand’s national anthem. Throughout his career, David also became a television host but found himself back to documentary films where his passion is rooted.

When he visited Columbia, he came across one of the supporters of Columbia’s top drug cartel leader, Pablo Escobar. As founder of the Medellin Cartel, Escobar’s series of connections from politicians and other influential people made illegal drug smuggling easy. David wanted to try to break past the border of Mexico to the United States as Escobar’s men did. With his quest for an unusual adventure, David visited “La Catedral”, a special prison built by the Columbian government to house Escobar for five years. He traveled together with the drug lord’s former hitman, Popeye.
With his successful attempt at crossing one of the world’s most guarded borders, David flew to Japan and visited the two sites where the first atomic bombs were used in war, Nagasaki, and Hiroshima. David also visited Japan’s famous suicide hotspot, Aokigahara. He stayed near the abandoned island of Hashima, one of the 505 abandoned islands in Nagasaki after the second world war. This island was also a reminder of Japanese forced labor in World War II.
When David visited the United States, he went to visit the notorious Milwaukee Cannibal, Jeffrey Dahmer and asked him about the series of murders and body dismemberment of seventeen people. Right then, he went to see the cult leader Charles Manson and interviewed him about how his group decided to take the lives of nine people in four different locations and did he make followers.
His quest for queer events brought David to New Orleans where he sought the mystery of Vampires. Later on, he flew to Dallas to find out about the assassination of the then-American president, John F. Kennedy. His passion for unique dark documentaries also brought David to Kazakhstan. He traversed the Semipalatinsk Test Site (also known as “The Polygon”) to see firsthand the nuclear warheads and space programs of the Soviet Union.
As David landed in Europe, he visited Paddock Wood in England not to have coffee or tea but to engage in what it’s like to be part of World War II within the ranks of the Nazis. After the battle reenactment, he went to visit museums of Britain’s notorious criminals. Right after his Europe tour, David went to Cyprus to look for stories about the ghost city of Famagusta.
