It is advised by many medical practitioners and the World Health Organisation that we all need to get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep every single night and ideally we should be going to bed between the hours of 10 PM and 11 PM.
We also need to make sure that we get at least one hour of deep sleep every single night to allow our bodies to rejuvenate and to fix themselves after the hard day that we have put our bodies through before.
For many of us however, we don’t get the necessary sleep and so we end up twisting and turning throughout the night continually closing our eyes but unable to nod off to sleep. This can be incredibly frustrating especially when you are exhausted and so it might be the surroundings in your bedroom that are keeping you awake.
It’s all about creating relaxation and comfort in the room that you spend a lot of hours in every single night and so in order to create the comfort that you need, it might be a good idea to spend a little bit of money on some throw pillows and throws Australia. If you’re feeling a little bit chilly during the night then pulling a throw over yourself to add some heat and pulling a throw pillow into your body for some comfort is a great way to help you to relax and hopefully to close your eyes and get a good night’s sleep.
If you are always suffering from not being able to get to sleep when you really want to then the following are some essential top tips that will hopefully address some of your issues.
- Pick a sleep schedule – As has been suggested briefly before, you should be trying to go to bed between the hours of 10 PM and 11 PM and there have been many studies on this and these seem to be the key times to try to go to sleep at night. You need to get your body into the habit of going to sleep at the same time every single night by using easy bedroom tweaks and if you’re finding it a little bit difficult to nod off then get out of bed and go for a short walk around your home.
- No eating & drinking before bedtime – It is important however to not go to bed hungry and so make sure that you have enough food about three hours beforehand that will last you throughout the night until breakfast the following morning. It may be tempting to have a glass of wine or a glass of beer before going to sleep in your bed but this will end up keeping you up for longer. A cup of coffee is a definite no-no before bed so stay away from anything that has caffeine in it.
It is all about creating the right kind of environment in your bedroom that will allow you to relax and allow you to rest. This is why throws are incredibly popular all over the country because they provide us with something soft and warm and also having something in the bedroom to create some kind of white noise like a fan is always advised.
