Day 3: By Will Bradley
We got up at 7:30 a.m. sharp, well most of us. We all went down to to eat breakfast of waffles and donuts. This was one of the best meals we had since we have been here. Then we got to go on a visit to Rutgers Newark. The tour guide told us about the college experience and all the benefits for going to there school.
There are some cool features, like getting free meals and having access to the weight room whenever you want. Jeremiah and Alex Sharpe loved the idea of having a weight room all to themselves. We came back and did a service project for St. Benedict’s – we helped them clean the whole building and clear bushes and sidewalks. This was sort of difficult seeing that the building has nearly 50 rooms in it. Finally we took a quick power nap and went to swim laps in the pool. The first few laps were easy, but as soon as we got to about the 3rd lap, it was extremely difficult.
The best part of the day was the Brazilian steak house, where we got all-you-can-eat steak. We got to try a variety of different kind of foods like chicken heart and bacon wrapped steak. Over all it was a good and helpful day for the NYC baseball spring term.
