He was born on May 8, 1996, to Mexican mother and Puerto Rican father in New York City. His mother’s name is Natividad Perez Hernandez, who moved to the United States to seek a better life and more opportunities for her son. 6ix9ine learned Spanish in early childhood. His father left him when he was still studying in grade 3.
His stepfather was shot dead a few steps away from his home. This pushed 6ix9ine into post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, and he was hospitalized. The death of his stepfather emotionally broke him so much that he was expelled from the school for bad behavior while he was in the 8th grade.
He never resumed his education and instead started working as a delivery boy to aid his mother in meeting up the financial difficulties. He was also involved in the sale of heroin and cannabis on the streets. For which, he was arrested and sent to prison.

6ix9ine is still young and unmarried. When he was 16 years old, he fathered a girl with his girlfriend Sara Molina. He was also named in a child sex charge. In 2018, New York Police arrested him in connection with an incident in which he choked 16 years old in a shopping mall in Houston, Texas. The court dropped charges after the 16 years old backed off. FCK THEM, the music label which can be traced back to Slovakia, released most of his music tracks. He gathered most of the fame when he became an internet meme for his hair which is dyed in rainbow color, his countless tattoos, and his rainbow-plated grills. He also bonded with a New York rapper Zillakami, but soon both were caught in a feud after 6ix9ine stole songs.

In September 2019 after he was arrested and indicted, 6ix9ine started testifying against the former members of his gang. He turned into a state witness in return for a cut in the 47 years sentence.
