Early Life
Adam Silver was born on April 25, 1962, in Rye, New York, and raised by a Jewish-American family. He went to Rye High School and graduated in 1980. After graduating, he attended Duke University and took up political science. He graduated from college in 1984 and worked straight away for Les Aucoin as a legislative aide. However, he only stayed there for one year. Les Aucoin was a member of the US House of Representatives from 1975 to 1993.
After working for a year, Silver went back to school and finished a J.D. degree in 1988 at the University of Chicago Law School.

Four days after the video was released, Silver announced that Donald Sterling is banned from the NBA unconditionally. In addition, he also fined him $2.5 million, the maximum permitted in the NBA.
Adam Silver virtually removed all of Sterling’s authority over the Clippers and even encouraged owners to remove Sterling’s ownership from the basketball team. Because of this, Sterling was barred from going to the Clippers’ facilities as well as attending NBA games.
